This is the truth, in fact. That same person that would post one or two stacks at the outrageous price would then post his "real" auctions a bit above that new "average" price that is generated, so people would buy them over their actual value because it appeared to be a good deal.

However, anyone who used Auctioneer a lot factored this in to the average prices generated by the mod and appropriately lowered their own auctions.
