Try Garan's plugins --
Garan also has a series of Plugins which might give you a look at what you want:
AltInventory once did it (I think), but changes Turbine made eliminated some of that capability.
He has a thing called AltViewer and another ItemViewer.
I haven't used either one so I can't tell you how they might fit your question. And it may not be possible since the changes. I believe that the old AltInventory design did do what you want.
He is an active visitor to both this website and the Lua thread at the main LOTRO.com forums.
