using other resources
I have been using skins made here for a while, and I just decided to attempt to make a skin on my own, being that I'm pretty handy with photoshop and whatnot myself :D, and I just have one question.
I was planning on making a skin based on Gandalf, and I was wondering if it would be against some rule or guideline to use either screens taken by myself or screens released by Turbine to add to my skin. Another idea I had came to me when looking at some paintings done by John Howe and Alan Lee, and I thought to use those as well, but I'm pretty sure some copyright law somewhere would prohibit that, but I'm just covering my bases here. Thanks. |
You're fine,
As long as you're not trying to sell it. Although it wouldn't hurt to try and adjust the images a little to make them you're own, or for the continuity of the entire UI. |
You can't get sued, if that's what you are worried about. But they may bitch and moan about it. But then again people tend to do that about everything anyway. :)

Turbine's graphic sigs don't give your actual character's image or their surname and are too large. |
My bad. Sorry. Really shouldn't post when it's 8am and I haven't slept yet. ;)
