Wondering if this is out there??

Hi community,

Thank you for all your work in developing such good looking UI's

I run at a resolution of 1680 x 1050

I was trying to find a few different skins ( cos my characters all have different personalities )...

I do like skins Like Erolings?? and Damoin?? and JapIvy

But for some reason they are not working with my resolution. I have edited line 22 ( though each skin tells me to use different calculations... is that normal? ) and for instance, JapIvy 1.03 is not showing any of my "system" icons... but I digress.

I was wondering if there are any skins out there , that work inherently on my resolution , and has the large dressing room ??

Thanks again.

Uth is 1680x1050 native, so you wouldn't have to change any of the values to get it to work.

Different authors put information at the start of the file, so it may not always be line 22.

In order for the toolbar to be placed properly, you'll need to modify the X and Y position manually in the SkinDefinition.xml file. The line you'll need to modify is the following line:

<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="..." Y="..." Width="1024" Height="144">

The rules for calculating the values are:
X = (Resolution Width - 1024) / 2
Y = Resolution Height - 135

That is the Line you have to edit to place it in the center of your screen. There are UIs that have you place it in different locations, so the calculations would be different.

thanks for that...

yeah I'm pretty sure that I am changing the correct line/values...

what threw me was that the couple I looked at used a different calculation in their examples...

Broadly should, for resolution 1680 x 1050, the calculated be like below??

x = 328
y = 915

so the line should ALWAYS be :

<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="328" Y="915" Width="1024" Height="144">

DaimonUI is set to 1680x1050 by default. Did you remember the relog after installing the skin ? Also look into the troubleshooting stuff on my UI page and you can post a screenie too if you want to.

Thanks Daimon,

yup , using 2 of yours ... I'm having similar troubles with the Daimon ones as with the Jap Ivy ( I posted a screenie in the Help section )

But I might post up a Daimon screenie tonight ... I do love the work everyone has done.. but I'm getting to the give up stage because of my incompetence :P

Note:

yep I close Lotro totally and restart after the switch, but this has not helped.

JappMe has replaced the system icons with transparent images because it's a minimalist UI and that's the only way to "make" the bar smaller.. So that is working as intended..
