request:alt vault viewer
 

hi guys 1st post here but anyway i've been using Alt Inventory which was made by Garan and i was wondering if something similar could be made where we could see where our items in our vaults on which alts are placed in.

could this be at all possible to make? or is it just me living in a fantasy world ( namely middle earth :P )

Unfortunately the Vault is not accessible by lua right now. Considering that the vault isn't available to the game until you visit a Vault NPC, chances are if this access were implemented, it would only be able to be accesed when you were talking to such an NPC.

so the only to view your alts items in your vault at the moment is to take screenshots?

I beg to differ. Take a look at the plugin AltInventory. Once Turbine provides a way to access the player's vault at the vault NPC, a plugin can be written to remember what's there and provide a read-only view to the player and their alts away from the vault NPC.

The key roadblock here is Turbine supplying a Lua interface to the vault.
