A Much less technical question

While I very much do like the Addons that people have on this site, I am only looking to change one thing on my UI and I cant' figure out how and was wondering if there is a way to do it without an addon.

How do I get the shift, control, and alt triggered action bars to stay on the screen? I looked all through the in game UI and couldn't find it, though I may just be blind). And if it's not in game is there a simple addon that i can use to just change the action bars to stay on?

i am not sure what do you mean by staying on screen.

the hotbars should be visible by default. did you check in-game menu > quickslots and tick always show options

As daimon said, you need to go to the options panel and tick off the "always show" option for each of the bars you want to always be on the screen. You're looking for this (the "QuickSlots" tab):
