Ok, I was wondering how you edit the UI?

What do you use to make changes to it?

I am at a complete loss...and guidance would be appreciated...

Hello,

You can find a message that explain how you can skinning LotRO on the official Forum
- http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149176

But a better solution is to visit this part of the forum : Tutorials & Other Helpful Information (http://www.lotrointerface.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=21)

All you need is an text editor like NotePad++ (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net) to edit the .xml file
You also need an image editor like Photoshop but I think that a freesoft like The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) or Paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net)
make it possible to edit .tga picture (an image format with a mask)
(i'm not sure for The Gimp and Paint.net)

As Asghaard said, you will find a lot of info in our Tutorial forum, including a copy (http://www.lotrointerface.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11) of the codemaster thread he linked (if you are like me and don't have an account at the codemaster site because you are from North America, Australia or New Zealand you won't be able to see the codemaster thread). Your best bet is to read through the stuff not only in the Tutorial forum, but in all the Developer Discussions (http://www.lotrointerface.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=20) forums.

As you come up with specific questions, post them in the appropriate Dev forum and folks will try to help you out. :)
