Description
RecipeTracker will automatically track all of your known recipes on each of your characters on a server. It allows any characters crafting list to be viewed instantly, without needing to log out and in again. It also includes a quick recipe search which will tell instantly which characters can use that recipe that just dropped, and which characters already know it.

Features:
  • Tracks/views all known recipes on all alts
  • Tracks crafting proficiency/mastery status and experience for all alts
  • Minimized plugin icon (disable from options if you don't want it)
  • Recipe quick search - just drag a recipe to the quickslot and instantly see which character already know it, and which characters need it. Or search by simply typing part of the recipe name.
  • Shows ingredients required for a recipe, even for recipes known only by alts.

Commands:
  • /recipetracker options
  • /recipetracker show
  • /recipetracker hide
  • /recipetracker toggle

Limitations:
  • There's a bug in the LUA API which means that when you learn a new recipe it won't show up in the list. You'll have to log out and then log in again in order for the new recipe to appear in the characters list.
  • Only the known recipes can be tracked, there is no way to see a list of the unknown recipes, as the LUA API doesn't show this information yet.
  • The quickslot search is a bit primitive since it is based only on the recipe name. Let me know if it fails on any recipes and I'll patch it. Also there's no way in the API to tell for what profession a recipe is intended, so the list of characters just says 'All characters' when an unknown recipe is found.

Changelist:
1.3 - 26/1/13
  • Profiency and mastery experience is now tracked and can be seen on all alts.
  • Search text box in addition to the quickslot, allows searching by typing part of the recipe name.
  • Fixed session play bug where a new character entry was created for the session character.
  • More fixes for the German client where recipe name does not match the result (thanks again to Amethadan for these).
1.2 - 3/11/12
  • Ingredients are now stored for every recipe and can be seen on a separate tab.
  • Full German localization (thanks to Amethadan)
  • Fixes for issues in German client where recipe name does not match the result.
1.1 - 30/10/12
  • Reduced memory usage by removing duplication of recipe data
  • The "Needed by" list now shows characters in gray if they have not yet achieved the required proficiency for the recipe.
  • Quickslot is cleared after searching
  • German clients use correct recipe format for quickslot search
1.01 - 29/10/12
  • Fixed a bug with the expand/collapse icons
  • Added plugincompendium file

Deleted Alt won't go away

Hello:

I had the same problem listed below. I deleted an alt and couldn't get rid of them in Recipetracker.

I did this:
Under Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\PluginData there should be a subfolder for all your accounts. Under that, subfolders for all servers you have characters on. And under that, subfolders per character. Deleting the ex-characters folder should remove the saved recipes/inventory/...

Then deleted Recipetracker and re-installed. My deleted alt is still showing-up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

so while playing and updating my UI I ran across this plugin and thought I'd add in the westemnet crafting for myself, it shows the recipes BUT it doesn't show the level

I added it into the globals.lua file and when I got to load it I get this error

...ine\Plugins\ScarlimPlugins\RecipeTracker\Global s.lua:105: table index is nil

what exactly am I doing wrong?

and next question: is there any chance to implement the stats of crafted items to be shown? like when i hover the item in my bag it shows them. do you have to implement them all manually? or can you load them from any other content (lotro wiki / other plugins / ...)?
As I understand it, this is a limitation in the LOTRO interface - the item description popup only works for recipes your active character knows (or can learn, not entirely sure).

hey,

first of all, thanks for this awesome and pretty useful LUA. i really enjoy it and use it quite often (yeah altaholic problem..)

i have a few suggestions/questions about it.

i have had the problem that, when i delete a char (or even transfer to other server) the known recipes of this character are still shown. is there any option to delete the "old" characters? i hope so

and next question: is there any chance to implement the stats of crafted items to be shown? like when i hover the item in my bag it shows them. do you have to implement them all manually? or can you load them from any other content (lotro wiki / other plugins / ...)?
thanks alot for your work again!!

[edit: and maybe add the items that are needed to crit too? like resin, brimstone, journals, etc.]

There are two solutions to this. One is to use a third party program running outside of the game client and is NOT a recommended solution as that can lead to security issues. The other is only available if your operating system allows Symbolic Links. Windows XP does not, But Vista, Win 7, Win 8, Mac and Linux systems do. Basically, you tell your computer that one account's data folder points to the other account's data folder and from then on it acts like one big account for Lua purposes. Just google "Symbolic Link" plus your operating system to learn more.
Thanks for the suggestion, it worked great. I had never heard of Symbolic Links but found a small program at http://dirlinker.codeplex.com/ that created the links for me.

I simply added a new directory called AllAccounts under PlugInData and then linked the AccountA and AccountB directories to it so that the new directory contained all the actual data and the old directories were converted to links to the same directory.

But it has one problem from the point of view of someone with multiple accounts. It tracks all data by first account and then by server within the account.

Tracking just by server would allow players like myself see what our alts on the second acct on the same server are in need of when we find a new recipe. Since we can use game mail to pass items between toons on the same server, it would be nice to be able to see which items to move over withotu first having to move the item to the second account and then checking there.

And tracking by server would not affect those that have only one account as the data would still be broken down by server.

Re: Correction

In your Savedata the Names are saved in that Form

Maybe here is the Problem why it doesn't Match?

Brenfalle aus Khazd-Stahl
Those are special characters that are saved in an escaped format by the Vindar patch to avoid data errors since utf8 characters are not read correctly when reloaded. It is more likely that the reason they do not match is that the author is probably using string.lower in an attempt to make the match case-insensitive but string.lower doesn't work with special characters - that is, and are both converted to two different, non-matching characters. It is possible to work around this by first converting accented characters to non-accented characters and then use string.lower (or replace string.lower with a function that properly converts upper case special characters to their lower case equivalents).

Problem with some Corrections

When the Corrections have , , , , , or in the Name the Correction of a Name in German doesn't work.

I mean the Strings.RecipeMatchSubstitutions[""] = "" Part of Globals.lua

Some more issues I see:
  • multi-output recipes don't show all their outputs (note that in some scholar recipes, the different outputs have different inputs as well)
  • very few item icons "work" (in the sense of getting a popup with item info, being able to Ctrl-RightClick them to create link in chat, ...) when viewing recipes for characters other than the current one
Both of these make the plugin less useful than it could be.

I have alts for every profession, with a reasonably full set of tailor recipes, plus a woodworker that spent about 40g on getting all the L60/65 guild LI recipes, so I can send you my plugindata if you like.

Is there a way to add a notes section for each recipe? I would like to keep track of the base cost for making something like food for each one, so I wouldn't have to add things up each time to know what the cost is for said item. Maybe put a notes tab in after the details tab.
For Cooking recipes, the Cooking Reference plugin (http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info793) already will show the total cost for ingredients for every cooking recipe in the game. It will even build a shopping list of ingredients when you want to make a batch of some cooking item.
