Description
AZURE GLASS by Enfield of Landroval
v1.3.1

Latest version can be downloaded at http://www.lotrointerface.com.

[ Description ]

This interface uses the "glossy" or "glass" style to give the default LOTRO UI a cleaner and more modern look.

[ Installation Instructions ]

Extract the contents of this folder to the following location:

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\

Windows Vista:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\ui\skins\

You may have to create the above folders if they do not already exist.

[ Configuration ]

In order for the toolbar to be placed properly, you'll need to modify the X and Y position manually in the SkinDefinition.xml file. The line you'll need to modify is the following line:

<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="..." Y="..." Width="1024" Height="144">

The rules for calculating the values are:
X = (Resolution Width - 1024) / 2
Y = Resolution Height - 135

Example:
Your resolution is 1280x1024
X = (1280 - 1024) / 2 = 128
Y = 1024 - 135 = 889

After loading the UI for the first time, you'll have to restart your LOTRO client for everything to be positioned correctly. If you don't want to use the custom toolbar due to current limitations of the client, the old toolbar is available by simply replacing the SkinDefinition.xml with the SkinDefinition_OldToolbar.xml file.

[ Known Issues ]

These are the current known issues with the UI. Most of them are caused either from bugs in the game or limitation of the skinning system. If you find a bug not listed below, please send me a PM on the forums on www.lotrointerface.com.
  • The small Attunement gauge is cropped so part of the right half does not show
  • If locked, the Item Advancement icon on the toolbar uses the old icon image
  • The background selection image in the auction house is really ugly
  • The border of the selection image in the Social panel isn't quite squared away

[ Special Thanks ]

Brygard - For the inspiration to constantly improve the UI
D.H1cks - The LOTRO Skin Viewer/Editor are invaluable tools for development of UIs.
Drusan - For introducing me to this well-designed game.
Frosty - For the excellent information on UI creation.

I really like this interface and use it for a long time, but since MoM I have the same problem like others. The Toolbar isn't centered and I didn't find any way to correct this. So it looks permanently:

http://mitglied.lycos.de/norcaine/LotRO/skinfehler.jpg

My resolution is 1280x1024, so the modified line is this <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="128" Y="879" Width="1024" Height="144">. Unfortunately it does not work. Which value for X or Y I set, nothing is change. I've tried it to change with Wordpad and Notepad without any effect.
So what could it be?
Your code looks good, but your Y value should actually be "889." There's a typo in the current readme.txt file that has the wrong equation. What's here on the site is correct.

Here's a stupid question: are you sure you're updating the right file in the right place? Are there multiple copies of the skin that you have installed? The way it is now, it looks like it's using the default values for X and Y.

Great UI thanks.

One thing I'd really like though is an even bigger toolbar. The one with 4 slots is good but one with room for another row of slots (2 more side by side above the existing 4) would be even better.

Keep up the good work.

Looks like you just need to exit the client and log back in with Azure Glass set as your UI. LOTRO has that "feature" when you change the layout of something.

I'm still working on a more complete Mines of Moria reskin. The holidays and actually playing the game can do that to you. Anyways, here's a quick preview of things to come:

Impressive work!
However I can't manage to to install it.
Once installed, if I leave the xml file unchanged, I see the theme in the lotro combo box, I can select it, but the bar in not centered (as expected).
As soon as I change the X and Y as required, the theme does not appear anymore in the lotro skin combo box, whatever I enter as X and Y values... (My res is 1440x900, I entered 208 and 765)

Edit: I think I found the problem, I edited the xml file using the (XP) wordpad... as soon as I use notepad instead, it works!

Mhh...have a problem too with the Toolbar...
It isnt in center...

My Resolution is 1280x1024 so i have use your numbers from the example...
Then i would try another wight and have change it...but nothing happens...so it seems the UI dont use the definitions?
Can you paste the line of code from the SkinDefinition.xml file that begins <Element ID="ToolbarField" ...? It should be:

<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="128" Y="889" Width="1024" Height="144">

I just noticed there's a typo in my readme. It should be "Y = Resolution Height - 135", not 145. I'll get this corrected for the next version.

Not centered

I am using a 24" monitor with 1920x1200 display setting, I have the toolbar on the bottom where it is suposed to be but it will not center for me.

Can someone help me with this? It will be much appreciated!

Element ID="ToolbarField" X="360" Y="1055" Width="1055" Height="144"

Yeah, the vitals graphics are kind of in their infancy right now It's something I'm looking at correcting in the next version.

Ok, works for me. I like the overall look and feel of the theme, especially since it includes the buttons on the bar that so many other minimalist skins seem to like to exclude. thanks.

Is there a reason why when in a fellowship the fellow vitals graphic isn't the same as the player vitals?
