Thumbs up Thanks!

Ah, well thanks. Too bad I didn't remember to look up how to make them visible, and just backed up the settings and erased Travel Window. Was working on re-installing it when I decided to look to see if you had answered. Will definitely keep this in mind in the future.

UPDATE: I reinstalled it using LOTRO Compendium (it was just under the name Travel Window Patch) and when I went to where I couldn't find the file before, the file was showing in plain sight...perhaps I had accidentally deleted the file before or something was just screwy. Oh well!

Apparently a windows system file that is used for display of thumbnails in the explorer (thumbs.db) was packaged into the zip file on my Windows machine. Now on your machine this file cannot be overwritten during installation because of Windows permission settings; you could try running Plugin Compendium as Administrator as a workaround. Another way is to install manually and ignore the thumbs.db from the zip.

I will upload a package without the file later today when I have access to my work environment (will be 15.3.2).

P.S. You cannpt see the file as it is hidden in the explorer (most system files are). Googling "show hidden files in explorer" will give you more info.

Error when updating with LOTRO Plugin Compendium

Tried updating to 15.3.1, but when it was updating it came up with this message:

"Problem when installing plugin Travel Window

Access the the path 'C:\Users\((Username omitted for privacy))\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\DhorPlugins\Travel\Resources\Thumbs .db' denied "

I also personally went to this part of my computer and could not even find a file called Thumbs.db . Any chance someone knows why it's doing this?

15.3

Seems to not be installing correctly. Tried it earlier and lost the plug-in. Have reverted to 15.2 for now. Think it's going in the wrong directory.

Bug ?

Hi, first of all Thanks for keep this Plugin up to date!.

Now to my issue: When I try to open "Rhovanion Map" or "Gondor Map" (In menu) send this message : ...ne\Plugins\DhorPlugins\Travel\RhovanionMapWindo w.lua:170: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)

...nline\Plugins\DhorPlugins\Travel\GondorMapWindo w.lua:170: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)
and nothing happens, the Eriador one is working tho.

Hope you can help me fix it

I received a message from D.H1cks and he is ok with me developing my own version of TW based on his (full credit will be given).

So besides my attempts to keep the current TW running I will be starting a rewrite, too. I will be probably starting a new plugin page for this too, and am looking for a name. So far the working title is "Travel Window Redux".

Updated notes:

- I installed LOTRO on my Macbook for testing purposes
- PMs to the other authors are out, hope especially D.H1cks, if anyone has a way to contact him about me taking over development please let me know
- so far I looked into really cleaning up the code, as some unused leftovers of travel rations (pun intended!) can be found here and there

Re: Bug That's A Minor Annoyance

Quote:
Hey guys, hope this can be reproduced somehow. I have noticed when I jump around characters on a server for a bit, while the client is loading (with Travel Window already being loaded as well) then the client seems to rapidly minimize and maximize multiple times in a row (this happens so far on fullscreen). Then, after having loaded, when I bring up the travel window and I move my cursor over the bottom right of the window to resize it, then the client AGAIN does one rapid minimize, and one rapid maximize, no matter where you are in the game. It's just a bug I believe, and I think it has something to do with Travel Window. The only workaround (which isn't much of one) for this problem is by quitting LOTRO and restarting it. If you need to ask anything about it, feel free to send me a pm on here, I'll try my best to answer any questions sent. Thanks!
So this does not happen when you do not use TravelWindow at all?

And also what OS are you on? Windows? OSX? Does it happen with other software as well?

Crash to Desktop belongs to Awesomonium

The crashing I mentioned earlier is related to Awesomium, not the Luas.

If I do NOT open the store (or the Help screen, i.e. /bug) in-game I can play for hours - 7 hours is now the longest stretch with the Mac Client.
However, as soon as I access the store -- wham, this 45 minute timer gets started and "right on clock" I crash, only now it is getting definitively labeled as the Awesomium Thread which is crashing!

I did a minor update so far, apparently it was already approved

v15.2
- added U13 translations for RU thanks to Pulse
- updated plugincompendium file thanks to magill

Some notes:
- I will install LOTRO on a Mac of mine to try to look into the TravelWindow (TW) crash
- the banner at the top stays because the file is uploaded as a patch, I did this for credit reasons
- I will try and contact the other authors if taking over development of TW is ok, so I can start development on my own version
- will prioritize the Mac crash and TW closing on traveling as first issues
- feature idea one: selecting an icon for the TW button, there have been four or five very nice icons over the years
- feature idea two: replacing the maps with ingame assets, so the download will shrink by at least 80%
