Description
IOF
IOF is a tool designed to help those of us who are riddle challenged (like me) get through the riddle doors and enjoy a very well put together instance. Because this plugin is designed to get you through the doors, I ask that you allow the rest of your fellows a chance to try to figure out the riddles before using IOF.

I want to give a shout out to the author of this website for providing the riddle answers used in IOF: http://livinglush.tripod.com/riddle2.html

And the Lorebook page: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Inn_of_the_Forsaken

It also comes with a map of the hall of the sarcophagi, enabling those who want to quickly get through the hallway the option to do so, without having to open all of the sarcophagus.

Features
  • Easy to use user interface
  • Command line version
  • Map of the hall of sarcophagi
  • Several shell commands:
    • /iof help - displays a help menu for IOF
    • /iof show - shows IOF Window
    • /iof hide - hides IOF Window
    • /iof toggle - shows IOF Window if it is hidden, hides IOF Window if it is visible. This feature is intended for use with shortcut buttons, and one can be created by typing:
      /shortcut 1 /iof toggle
    • /iof <riddle number> - Responds with the answer on standard
    • /crypt help - displays a help menu for the Crypt Map
    • /crypt show - shows the Crypt Window
    • /crypt hide - hides Crypt Window
    • /crypt toggle - shows Crypt Window if it is hidden, hides Crypt Window if it is visible. This feature is intended for use with shortcut buttons, and one can be created by typing:
      /shortcut 1 /crypt toggle

Install
To install IOF, unzip the Almagnus1 folder to your Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/Plugins folder.

IOF Window's User's Guide
To make IOF Window visible, type: /iof show

To reposition IOF Window, click and drag the white bar.

Once visible, select the door, and type in the riddle number. This will cause the red button to turn green. With the door targeted, click the green button, and IOF will perform the emote for you.

Crypt Map User's Guide

The Crypt Map shows a map of the hallway of sarcophagi. It is the map from the Lorebook article on Inn of the Forsaken, edited to make the image slightly smaller, and not take up as much screen space.

To make the Crypt Map visibile type:
/crypt show

Like the IOF Window, Crypt Map also can be moved by clicking and dragging the white bar.

Command-line User's Guide
Once you have the riddle, target the door, and enter the command:
/iof <riddle number> where <riddle number> is the number of the riddle

The answer will be given over standard, so you have to target the door, and type - or copy and paste - the emote.

Known Issues/Limitations
  • None at the time of writing.

Future Enhancements
  • French and German localization. I need links to the riddle solutions in French and German, and someone who can help me with the English => French/German translations for the command line. I would rather withhold the feature than use translate.google.com

Suggestions/Problems/Found a bug?
If you have found that one of the answers for the riddle is not correct, I ask that you please update the Lorebook article, in addition to letting me know.

If you have found something that can make IOF better, I'd love to hear from you. Please PM me, or leave me a message here, or on the LotRO forums (user: Almagnus1).

Unfortunately, I no longer play LotRO, nor have any desire to update the mod.

If someone else would like to pick up the torch, this mod is now public domain.

Typo on map

FYI on the crypt map, the last name on the left is incorrect, "Yunjalim" is misspelled as "Yujalmin".

While here, feature request, any chance of having the text entry field clear itself upon hitting the green button? Otherwise you have to click the button, click the entry field, reach for the keyboard to backspace/delete, then click elsewhere to deactivate the text box.

PS: I edited the TGA to fix the typo, but also flipped the map around 180° to match my perspective entering the space and numbered the tombs. If you want a copy of that file, let me know!

Ah, sorry I missed this one....

**Subscribes to the file comments** **earns a gold star for that one**

I'll get that worked into IOF - ideally with automated langauge switching so you don't have to mess with anything, and it does the right emotes for you.

Found out what's going on...

For some reason, it's not turning on the updating for the text box, so the text box interactivity is kinda.... broken atm.....

Working on a 1.1.1 that fixes this issue.

Edit:
See what the problem is, should hope to have it working soon.

I don't think that happened I normally have quickslots locked, and don't remember dragging anything off the button.

I've tried again and it didn't fix things.

Reverting to v1 got the green button back.

The way the green button works is by having an image over a quick slot that has an alias (normally created by typing in /shortcut 1 /stuff ), so you could have accidentally pulled the alias from the quick slot. Should that happen, deleting and retyping the number should get the plugin to recreate the correct alias.

Let me know if that's what happened, or if it completely stopped working. I'll check it out later today, and see if there's any safety nets that either failed, or need to be put in place to prevent the plugin from breaking like I think it did.

Odd Problem

First off great plugin, if it wasn't for this I would never run IoF.

I was using v1 perfectly happily, type in the riddle number, green button, open door WooHoo!

Then I install v1.1 and the green button stopped working I could still type /iof xx and get the riddle answer but the green button was a lazy IoF Hater's dream.

Any idea why this might have stopped working ?

Hey!

At them moment I am not so much into LUA-Skrip programming but if I provide you with all teh emotecommands for the german client could you make it worke with teh german client?
Although, if I'm going to be giving answers to the riddles for the German client, might as well do a full localization so everything's auf Deutsch =)

If you'd like to help with that, PM me =)

Update:
Have the UI built (had to scratch build it), and mostly finished, and I think I ran into a piece of the API that's not functioning correctly. Soo.... I need to sit down and figure out a workaround this weekend.

If what I'm seeing is programmer error (and it could very well be), then I should have everything wrapped up by the weekend.

I have no problem with this plugin. I think if you want to bypass the riddles then download the plugin. If you don't want spoilers then don't download it.

there is nothing here that isn't (or won't be) available on any number of wiki sites. many people alt-tab out of the game during instances and check a wiki site on how to do a particular riddle or task. this just keeps you in the game instead of going to some external site.

bravo to you for coming up with this so quickly after release.

basically, if people want to "cheat" then they will... this is just one more way for people if that is what they choose to do.

I personally think riddles are lame and i'd rather spend my time fighting mobs...but i know a lot of people don't feel that way. for them, don't download the plugin.
