Description
WardenEase was originally developed by Deusdictum but has since stopped updating it, and has graciously allowed others to pick up where it was left off.

Per the original information:

WardenEase creates three bars that hold all of your gambits and another bar with quickslots. When you click on a gambit from one of the three bars, the quickslots are filled with the gambit building skills needed to execute the gambit. Simply click the skills in order to execute it. The gambit will remain for you to execute it again, or you can select another gambit.

Features:
  • Automatically adds new gambits and quickslots as you level and learn new skills. This should work indefinitely even if if new gambits are added because it pulls gambit information directly from the game. NOTE: Turbine broke this feature with Helm's Deep.
Special Note: Because it pulls the information from the game, it's a bit delayed due to the fact that when you learn a new skill there's no events fired (events are only fired when you level up). You'll have to wait until you level again before it updates properly, or you can use /we2 refresh, or unload and reload the plugin for it to update.
Special Note: Because "Trained Skills" are skills you have trained whether you can actually use them or not, the plugin will always list all Fast Builder skills even if you can't use some of them.
  • Color codes for correct building sequences will display behind the builders.
Initially, the color will be WHITE behind them, meaning it is waiting for a builder to be used. GREEN means you are building the gambit correctly, and RED means there is one or more incorrect builders present in the sequence. BLACK means the gambit builder location is not used.
The actual gambit skill will have WHITE/GREEN/RED behind it too, WHITE meaning that the gambit sequence is being built, but not finished yet, and the sequence doesn't include any incorrect builders; GREEN means the gambit is ready to be used (special note: if you have other builders after the gambit sequence that changes the gambit, the gambit will still display GREEN); and RED means that there is an incorrect builder present.
Please see the side pictures for better clarification.
  • Key overlays. These display the corresponding key you need to use in order to execute the builder or gambit.
Currently, you can only set the overlays to 1 through 4, and the defaults are what most Wardens use: 1-Spear, 2-Shield, 3-Fist, 4-Gambit.
You can change these numbers by using the menu button.
You can turn on/off this feature using the menu as well.
  • Customize the gambit bars.
You can hide different gambits you don't care to see by right clicking on the gambit, and then selecting hide from the drop down menu.
You can show hidden gambits by right clicking any gambit on the bar, and selecting the "Show...<gambit name>" option, or the "Show All" option at the bottom. Note that you can't hide ALL gambits on one bar (use the main menu to hide the entire bar).
  • Customize the main WE2 window.
You can switch whether the fast builders display above or below the builder and gambit skills by using the main menu button.
You can switch where the Fast Builder skills are location in the 3x3 grid by right clicking on one of the Fast Builders and selecting which one you want in that spot. It will swap the one you selected and the one that was originally in that spot. Special Note: When switching the Fast Builders from above to below and vice versa, they get reversed, so set the fast builder location before setting where you want each individual one to be).
You can show/hide the recovery skills and the fast builder skills if you do not wish to see them on the main WE2 window.
  • Use layout mode (CTRL + \) to move the UI around and rotate the gambit bars.
  • One gambit bar for each type of gambit (Spear, Fist, Shield)
Right-click the down arrow in the main gambit window to hide / show individual gambit bars.
  • Adds slash commands to populate the main WardenEase2 window. E.g. "/we2 Brink Of Victory" will populate the WardenEase2 window with the "Brink of Victory" gambit sequence. These slash commands can be used in aliases / shortcuts and placed in any quickslot! You do not even have to type the full name in, for example "/we2 deft" will display Deft Strike or "/we2 conv" will display Conviction. When using partial names, please use at least three characters.
  • Tooltips for Fist, Shield, and Spear gambits will display when you hover over them. NOTE: These tooltips are now pulled directly from the game, and may not include all the information the normal tooltips display.
You can turn off Tooltips by clicking the down arrow and selecting the "Hide Descriptions."
Please let me know of any problems or missing tooltips.
  • Should now properly work with German clients.
Currently, only translations for German clients has been completed. If you would like to add translations for the French or Russian client, please get into contact with me. Until I can get translations for the other clients, WE2 will not work on those.
  • No dependencies.

Future Plans:
  • Continue working on Tooltips. Perhaps find a more efficient way to display them. Any suggestions?
  • Allow users to customize a special bar for whatever gambits the user wants.
  • Add more customization to the numbers on the quickslot boxes, so that users will know which key (defaults 1-4) to press to execute a certain builder or gambit. Perhaps this can be extended to the Gambits bars themselves if the user is using aliases to set the Gambits.
  • Have color coding and/or numbering (similar to the builders) for the Fast Builders so if you wish to create a gambit faster you know which Fast Builders to use.

Known Issues:
  • API LIMITATION: The API does not allow you to determine whether the client is in layout mode (CTRL + \) or not. If you load the plugin in layout mode, turn layout mode off and reload the plugin.
  • Skills might be off if you have just trained a new skill or gambit and have not leveled up afterwards, used /we2 refresh, or unload/reloaded the plugin. If you have trained a gambit and want it to show up on your gambit bars, please use /we2 refresh or unload and then reload the plugin.
  • When building gambits via the quickslot keys WE2 shows you, the refreshing mechanism that I use to keep tooltips updated makes it appear that a skill currently in the queue is actually not (as the dotted box won't appear around the skill button). I plan to fix this is a future update.

Please contact me with any problems.

Version History:

Version 3.3
  • Added translations for German clients. Many thanks for Burgus for the translations and inspiration to get it working and completed.
  • Fixed an issue when loading WardenEase2 using the Turbine Plugin Manager. The number of gambits were not showing up correctly due to the way Turbine loads in plugins and character attributes. You should now be able to automatically load WardenEase2 using the Turbine Plugin Manager without problems.
  • Added the ability to show/hide the recovery skills and the fast builder skills.

Version 2.5
  • Fixed issues that arose after Helm's Deep was released.
  • Possibly fixed an issue with ranged gambits not displaying correctly in the color coded helper.

Version 2.31
  • Now with less chat spam!

Version 2.3
  • Fixed an issue where the number of Fast Builders might be smaller than expected, causing the window to be larger than it should be. Or not since it was impossible to test this bug but the code was wrong. Who knows.
  • Add ability to move around the main WE2 window, basically reversing the direction the window is set up.
  • Added option to allow users to switch locations of the fast loaders in the 3x3 grid.
  • Fast Builders should now always show the proper tooltip.
  • Redundant code is now redundant. As such it has been removed.

Version 2.1
  • As this was a big change in terms of coding and features, I have skipped all the way to v2.1.
  • Fixed an error that caused European clients to have their save data corrupted, again. Thanks to Garan for his help solving this issue. Again.
  • Added key overlay that displays the key you should pressed to use a builder/gambit.
  • Added highlighting to the builders/gambit so the user knows if an incorrect builder was used.
  • Added customization of the individual gambit bars, so the user can hide gambits they no longer wish to see.
  • Some overall improvements in efficiency, coding, and usage. Less possibilities for errors and memory leaks. Backend stuff mostly.
  • When updating from a pre2.1 version, your settings will be wiped and you'll have to redo your settings. This is to make your settings compatible with the VindarPatch and other upgrades I did.

Version 0.99
  • Added all Spear gambit tooltips, which will change based on stance.
  • Fixed an error that caused European clients to have their save data corrupted. Thanks Barbatruck for bringing this to my attention and Garan for his LUA Tutorial on how to deal with this.

Version 0.93
  • Added all Fist gambit tooltips, which will change based on stance.
  • Fixed an error when a user did not have the first Recovery skill trained that prevented the plugin from loading. Thanks lebordeluche!
  • Fixed issue with tooltips displaying out of screen and behind other UI elements.

Version 0.9
  • Added all Shield gambit tooltips, which will change based on stance.
  • Fixed an error when a first-time user loaded WE2 and did not have a save file. Thanks wmrojer for bringing this to my attention!

Version 0.8
  • "LevelChanged" event for LocalPlayer will now play nicely with other plugins.
  • The Default Gambit skill will now show the correct tooltip even when a Gambit is being produced.
  • Tooltips implemention started. Conviction will show its tooltip based on stance.
  • Removed dependency on Turbine Utilities.

Version 0.7 - Initial Release
Note: When you first upgrade from a previous version (0.5 for example) of WardenEase to WardenEase2, your settings will be wiped due to some errors that had come up over time. This is to ensure your settings are stable. Sorry for the inconvenience.

For LPC to support, since this has a dependency on Turbine Utilities, you will need to add a file called WardenEase2.plugincompendium to your zip file, that contains the following. The dependency of "0" refers to Turbine Utilities, so it will know to install that for people. Also, ensure to keep the version number up to date in this each time your update.

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

Tooltips

I have begun initial work on adding tooltips. Conviction will now show a tooltip based on the stance (since the tooltip actually changes depending on stance). Currently if you have the bar too far to the right or bottom of the screen, the window won't appear (as the tooltip appears directly below the Gambit button). Please report any oddities that you may encounter. Enjoy!

Bug for new players

Just wanted to inform you of a bug that only appears to new player.

If you do not have any settings for the plugin stored it will crash at row 153 in WEController.lua since settings is nil.

You need to move the check for old version settings to below the check that settings is a table.

Code:
-- make sure the settings are a table, if not, create new settings
	if type( self.settings ) ~= "table" then
		self.settings = { };
	end

-- for people coming from previous versions not updated by me, we need to blank their data since it can be corrupted
	if self.settings.version == nil then
		self.settings = {};
	end

	self.settings.version = version;
I'm a bit unsure about how this plugin is meant to be used. Are you supposed to click the builder skills with the mouse? Is it possible to bind keys to the plugin shortcuts?

Thanks for the catch. I'll have a patch out later today.

Normally, people put the Spear, Shield, Fist, Gambit Skill in the 1, 2, 3, 4 keys (respectively). You can click the builder keys in the WardenEase2 window with the mouse, but unfortunately the API does not support binding keys to LUA created quickslots.

The quickslots there are really more of a visual guide so that you can see what the sequence is, but can also just be used to click down the row to create the gambit.

In future versions I may give a visual indicator if you have the correct or incorrect gambit in a slot to do the gambit you have selected, and if at any time they allow the binding of keys to a quickslot I will do that too.

Currently the best solution is to have Sp/Sh/Fi/Gambit in the 1-4 keys and just use those, while using WE2 to learn gambit rotations and sequences. This is how I actually learned them on my warden, using the original WardenEase, and I felt it needed updated due to new gambits and other changes so that new wardens (and myself) could use it without problems.

Liking what I'm seeing so far. First time using it and it's already got me reworking my whole UI and quickbars, which is a good thing. Looking forward to when all of the tooltips are done as that will be a big help, but I know that's a job in itself.

Suggestion- is there a way to put the masteries on top of the builder/ gambit box instead of on the bottom? I'd love to be able to put the box right on top of my main quickslot bar, but with the masteries below the builders it doesn't work well. Perhaps as an option to go either way?

In the meantime it looks like I'm going to have to spend a little time memorizing gambit icons so I can know which one I'm clicking on. hehe Great work so far though! Really like this plugin.

Hmmm, I'll look into what kind of what will need to be done to do this. I had considered letting users move the fast builders around since I'm sure everyone has them in slightly different grids (though it'd still probably be limited to a 3x3 grid).

What I do is 1:Gambit, 2:Spear, 3:Shield, 4:Fist. (I might've done 123 SSF, 4 G, but this is how it worked out). Further, I do Shift, Alt, and Shift+Alt 2 for spear combos, etc.

I expected Turbine to disallow plugin quickslot key binding. However, would it be possible for your quickslots to reflect the key bindings I already have in place? Can your plugin scan the Lotro quickslot bars in search of the first copy of each skill it comes across (since nonsensical people might have 30 spear icons on their quickslots with 30 different key bindings, only the left-bottom-most one would work?), then scan my key bindings and reflect that key binding in your plugin quickslot? That, or could you make a way for us to manually write in our own text reminder of what key binding we have for what skill? Or hell, maybe you could make it play a note or a chord. Can plugins play sounds and adjust their volume?

Also, rearrangeable mastery buttons is a MUST! Please and thank you. Wonderful work!

Where and how on earth do you put this code?

Ive tried everything and its not working.. does it overlay on wardenease?

HOW? Do i put each part in the other place? UI on UI in deusdictum? Ive tried that but it didnt work then either.

Please, add a picture of the full files path, showing where each goes..

Unfortunately we cannot get what people have in different default quickslots. The quickslots that contain the builders are not actually connected to the normal order for people's quickslots (Sp - Sh - F) but to the order you need to use the builders to make the selected gambit. So if you want to build Conviction, the slots are filled SH - F - SH - F - SH, and then the idea is you can just click down the line to build the gambit (or use hotkeys or your own quickslots). I have contemplated changing a few visuals so that you know which ones you have already built and some other things, but I could also add a number to the top of the builder so you know which key to press (and make this number customizable so people who use different setups can alter it). Sounds are not possible with LUA yet either.

Still working on this, unfortunately the new year was quite busy for me so I haven't had time to implement such a large change to the plugin (including adding the Spear tooltips). I hope to start doing more with it over the next month, but that's only my hope.

When you download the zip from LotroInterface.com, download that file to the Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins folder, and then extract that zip file to that location. When it is done, it should look like this:

Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\SDRPlugins and in that folder there should be a WardenEase2 folder, plus a file called WardenEase2.plugin. You can safely delete the old WardenEase files and folders, as I have incorporated everything that was in the original in my own (including DragBar).

Hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore problems.

Hello

Hope you understand my english ... (School + Google Translator )

I still have the "unable to parse file" error (...gs Online/PluginData/xxxxxx/[DE] Vanyar/xxxxx/WardenEase.plugindata:3: ']' expected near ','...line\Plugins\SDRPlugins\WardenEase2\WEContro ller.lua:153: Unable to parse file! )

Version 0.99 - German Client
from Plugin Compendium

Still hope u can fix it ... because i <3 the mod.Am unfortunately not often play to my warden, so I have some problems to cope with the gambits. Here's your plugin a great help to me.

Another Question ....
Quote:
allow users to select which gambits they want on each bar and to customize a special bar for whatever gambits the user wants.
Is there some Progress ... with this function the mod were perfect.

Hmmm, I was under the impression the fix I added should address this. It is possible that your old settings can no longer work, and you'll have to manually delete them. To do that, you'll have to go to the folder where the Lord of the Rings Online files are (where in-game pictures are saved), then follow the path that the game outputs (...gs Online/PluginData/xxxxxx/[DE] Vanyar/xxxxx/) and then delete the WardenEase.plugindata file. You will unfortunately lose all of your saved data, which means you'll have to put the windows back to where you like them. Hopefully then it will no longer be a problem. If you have already deleted your data and the bug occurred again, then I obviously did something wrong with my fix, and I'll probably have to get some help from another plugin developer.

I will also try to add a fix so that in the event your settings become corrupted, it will still load.

Quote:

You are actually in luck, I was able to get a build ready that has this feature in it (the customizable bar is not included, but you can now customize the 3 bars to hide gambits you don't care about). It also has colors for the gambits to let you know if you entered the wrong builder for the gambit you are making. I hope to have tested it and sent out by the end of the week.
