PvMPLog with the Options window open

Description
Description
PvMPLog provides a clean and simple floating text display of Infamy/Renown gained whilst PvP'ing in the Ettenmoors. It can also optionally display your Killling Blow count (including the name of the most recent victim - fades after a short time), your own deaths and the Commendations you have gained. You can also have the plugin save your stats when you logout or exit the game

CHANGED FOR U6. NOW DOES COMMENDATIONS

Instructions
Install as per any other LOTRO plugin
  • You should end up with something like C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Plugins\Creep\PvMPLog
  • /plugins load pvmplog
  • Change display location with the normal <cntrl>\ UI tool (persistent)
  • Change which stats are displayed by right mouse clicking on the Points: text (or Inf/Ren) to bring up the Options window and ticking the check boxes (hidden stats continue to count)
  • Enable saving of Stats on logout or exit by selecting this from the options window
  • Clear Stats at any time by clicking the button in the Options window
  • Change the transparency of the display by right mouse clicking on the top line of text and moving the slider
  • Hide the display for screenshots etc with the normal F12 hide UI button (or whatever you have it mapped to)

PvMPLog now works for Freeps as well as Creeps (will detect which type you are playing).

I'm not a programmer, I just did this as an interesting exercise and to teach myself a bit about LUA. I must thank Garan for taking the time to explain some of the basics to me.

Known Issues
It is not possible to distinguish between your pet killing an NPC and your pet killing a Freep/Creep so pet KB's will not increase your KB count, however the Infamy/Renown gained will be counted

I've had requests to track all kills as well as KB's. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a reliable way of doing this so kills are not tracked, but KB's are.

I'm sorry, but this only works with the English language. I know I should internationalise it and maybe I will one day, but for now English only!

Have to say I love this simple and easy to use plugin

As a warg though, I'd love an extra counter on there to see just how many times I am 'tracked/followed'

Some days it feels like more then 60

Did just that, deleted everryyyyyyything Creepy (sorry <3) and reinstalled, it did fix those issues! Might have had some rogue setting hanging around causing havoc. Thanks again, great work Sir!

Hmmm, I do a check against the version you are running and compare it to the version that created the last save file. If they are diffeent (you have upgraded the plugin) then I trash the plugin data file to reset everything. I set the default position to the centre of your screen and then rely on you to move it to where ever you want and that position should stick.

I hard coded a check for testing in a previous version rather than use a variable and unfortunately I forgot to change it back before releasing it. I fixed that in 2.0.2

It's possible that I re introduced that bug in 2.0.3 but it is certainly working for me.

I would suggest deleting the entire plugins/Creep folder, download the latest version from here and unpack it into the plugins folder to totally replace what you have. You could also open the save data file (just use notepad) which should be in plugindata/<your lotro account name>/<your server>/<your character name>/PvMPLog.plugindata and check that it says 2.0.3 against the "ver" option.

Awesome plugin Creep! I have two things to mention though. From the first version that worked perfectly before U6, the position of the PvMPlog on the UI doesn't save, and auto-centers itself each time at login, also, the option to save stats on exit doesn't work. If you log out, swap chars and log back in, it loses the data and resets itself to default - not saving the info on logout. Not huge things, just minor annoyances since the last one was soooo perfect Thanks for taking the time to make it!
(I am using the current updated 2.0.3 version)

Ran a couple of new characters long enough to get the first Grams map. 2.01 updates the Comms and no null values when group members get their Comms.

Good job, thanks.

Thanks Molan.

I did update it to fix the group commendations issue. Perhaps you were using V2.0.0 and not V2.0.1?

I wasn't aware of the deed issue so thanks for raising that. V2.0.1 may have fixed that as well, but I doubt it. I need to see the chat log when Commendations are earnt through completing a deed so if you or anyone else can post it here it would be great!

Thanks for the update.

Works well apart from two events. Does not recognise Commendations awarded from deed completion, eg Map deeds. Also gets confused by other people in your group turning in quests and being awarded Commendations. Returns a null value.

Next time these event occur for me will try to get a screenshot, or accurately copy the readout.

Great plugin, never leave Grams without it.

Thanks for the comment asarms87.

I have updated the plugin to 1.0.6

This release will detect which side you are playing and record Renown/Infamy accordingly. If you have updated 1.0.5 with asarms87's suggestion then please remove it and replace with 1.0.6

There is meant to be a class that tells us which side you are playing but I couldn't make it work so the display will say "Points: 0" until you earn some and will then change to either "Ren:" or Inf:".

Cool plugin! Nice that you can make it transparent if you want, I like that.

EDIT: Figured it out if anyone wants to make a copy of this to use on their Freep

Step 1: Find this line near the top

Code:
local yourinfe = " infamy points.";
Replace the word "infamy" with the word "renown". Be sure to keep the space first (not sure if that matters as I'm not familiar with LUA, but I left it as I found it).

Step 2: To change the display of the plugin to correspond with renown instead of infamy, do a "Find and Replace" in your text editor.

Find all instances of "Inf:" and replace with "Ren:" or "Renown:" or whatever you want to put there. Make sure you replace only the exact terms "Inf:". If you leave out the colon and replace "Inf" by mistake you will replace things that shouldn't be replaced

This worked for me, the menu still works and I get renown now as well. I don't think I messed anything up

Thanks again for this great plugin, it's very handy to have at a glance!
