About

Baruk is a plugin for LotRO that provides additional quickslot bars for skills etc. The orientation, scale, and number of slots of bars can be configured, additionally, bars can be made collapsible in different modes.

It was designed as a minimalist no-nonsense, no-flourish plugin, both as a learning project (it was the author's first plugin, though kept unfinished for a while) and to suit the author's own needs (more room for mounts, pets, travel skills and stances without polluting the display).

Installation

Copy the "Equendil" folder from the zip file to your "My Documents/The Lord of the Rings Online/Plugins" folder (if you never installed a plugin before, you might have to create that "Plugins" folder).

If you are using one or several other plugins of the author (Bootstrap, LIP), overwriting files *should* be safe. In doubt or if you encounter problems, install the latest versions of those plugins, older plugins first (by last update).

Execute "/plugins refresh" if you install the plugin for the first time while the game is running.

Execute "/plugins unload" if you were running any of the author's plugins (this will unload *all* plugins). This might not be necessary, but this is the safe way.

Usage

"/plugins load baruk" will launch Baruk.

"/baruk" or "/baruk toggle" will toggle the setup window.
"/baruk show" will show the setup window.
"/baruk hide" will hide the setup window.
"/baruk add" will create a new custom bar (which you can also do from the setup window).

Setup

The setup window will let you create, name, orientate, resize (number of slots), rescale and lock bars. You can also set their 'mode' there:

• 'Normal': Plain bar similar to Turbine's native quickslot bars.
• 'Collapsible': Adds a special slot (highlighted), that can be clicked to expand or collapse quickslots. You can drag & drop a skill or item to that slot to be used as an icon.
• 'Selection': Adds a special slot (highlighted) that 'remembers' the last shortcut (skill, item, alias ...) used within the bar. Right clicking that slot will expand or collapse the bar. Left clicking that slot will activate it as normal. Using a slot within the bar will automatically collapse the bar (and clone the slot to the special slot for future use).
• 'Mouse over'. Similar to collapsible but automatically expands/collapses on mouse-over.

Custom bars are forcibly expanded and unlocked while the setup window is open.

Bars can be repositioned as normal using "CTRL + \" (or equivalent on your setup). The mouse wheel can be used to scale bars in that mode also.

The author finds 'collapsible' bars best for skills used infrequently such as travel destinations, and 'selection' bars for mutually exclusive skills such as
stances, pets or mounts (or at least a fraction of the author's favourite mounts).

Known Issues & limitations

• Due to several "features" in Turbine's API, moving skills on a bar in 'mouse over' mode is cumbersome. Open the setup window to keep those expanded.
• There is currently no way to attach keybinds to custom bars due to limitations in Turbine's API.

Please note that the author intends to keep this plugin simple and will not implement conditions ("only show slot/bar X if player has effect Y"), or add preset bars (travel skills and the like) without a *very* compelling rationale.
