Description
WardenEase was originally developed by Deusdictum but has since stopped updating it, and has graciously allowed others to pick up where it was left off.

Per the original information:

WardenEase creates three bars that hold all of your gambits and another bar with quickslots. When you click on a gambit from one of the three bars, the quickslots are filled with the gambit building skills needed to execute the gambit. Simply click the skills in order to execute it. The gambit will remain for you to execute it again, or you can select another gambit.

Features:
  • Automatically adds new gambits and quickslots as you level and learn new skills. This should work indefinitely even if if new gambits are added because it pulls gambit information directly from the game. NOTE: Turbine broke this feature with Helm's Deep.
    Special Note: Because it pulls the information from the game, it's a bit delayed due to the fact that when you learn a new skill there's no events fired (events are only fired when you level up). You'll have to wait until you level again before it updates properly, or you can use /we2 refresh, or unload and reload the plugin for it to update.
    Special Note: Because "Trained Skills" are skills you have trained whether you can actually use them or not, the plugin will always list all Fast Builder skills even if you can't use some of them.
  • Color codes for correct building sequences will display behind the builders.
    Initially, the color will be WHITE behind them, meaning it is waiting for a builder to be used. GREEN means you are building the gambit correctly, and RED means there is one or more incorrect builders present in the sequence. BLACK means the gambit builder location is not used.
    The actual gambit skill will have WHITE/GREEN/RED behind it too, WHITE meaning that the gambit sequence is being built, but not finished yet, and the sequence doesn't include any incorrect builders; GREEN means the gambit is ready to be used (special note: if you have other builders after the gambit sequence that changes the gambit, the gambit will still display GREEN); and RED means that there is an incorrect builder present.
    Please see the side pictures for better clarification.
  • Key overlays. These display the corresponding key you need to use in order to execute the builder or gambit.
    Currently, you can only set the overlays to 1 through 4, and the defaults are what most Wardens use: 1-Spear, 2-Shield, 3-Fist, 4-Gambit.
    You can change these numbers by using the menu button.
    You can turn on/off this feature using the menu as well.
  • Customize the gambit bars.
    You can hide different gambits you don't care to see by right clicking on the gambit, and then selecting hide from the drop down menu.
    You can show hidden gambits by right clicking any gambit on the bar, and selecting the "Show...<gambit name>" option, or the "Show All" option at the bottom. Note that you can't hide ALL gambits on one bar (use the main menu to hide the entire bar).
  • Customize the main WE2 window.
    You can switch whether the fast builders display above or below the builder and gambit skills by using the main menu button.
    You can switch where the Fast Builder skills are location in the 3x3 grid by right clicking on one of the Fast Builders and selecting which one you want in that spot. It will swap the one you selected and the one that was originally in that spot. Special Note: When switching the Fast Builders from above to below and vice versa, they get reversed, so set the fast builder location before setting where you want each individual one to be).
    You can show/hide the recovery skills and the fast builder skills if you do not wish to see them on the main WE2 window.
  • Use layout mode (CTRL + \) to move the UI around and rotate the gambit bars.
  • One gambit bar for each type of gambit (Spear, Fist, Shield)
    Right-click the down arrow in the main gambit window to hide / show individual gambit bars.
  • Adds slash commands to populate the main WardenEase2 window. E.g. "/we2 Brink Of Victory" will populate the WardenEase2 window with the "Brink of Victory" gambit sequence. These slash commands can be used in aliases / shortcuts and placed in any quickslot! You do not even have to type the full name in, for example "/we2 deft" will display Deft Strike or "/we2 conv" will display Conviction. When using partial names, please use at least three characters.
  • Tooltips for Fist, Shield, and Spear gambits will display when you hover over them. NOTE: These tooltips are now pulled directly from the game, and may not include all the information the normal tooltips display.
    You can turn off Tooltips by clicking the down arrow and selecting the "Hide Descriptions."
    Please let me know of any problems or missing tooltips.
  • Should now properly work with German clients.
    Currently, only translations for German clients has been completed. If you would like to add translations for the French or Russian client, please get into contact with me. Until I can get translations for the other clients, WE2 will not work on those.
  • No dependencies.

Future Plans:
  • Continue working on Tooltips. Perhaps find a more efficient way to display them. Any suggestions?
  • Allow users to customize a special bar for whatever gambits the user wants.
  • Add more customization to the numbers on the quickslot boxes, so that users will know which key (defaults 1-4) to press to execute a certain builder or gambit. Perhaps this can be extended to the Gambits bars themselves if the user is using aliases to set the Gambits.
  • Have color coding and/or numbering (similar to the builders) for the Fast Builders so if you wish to create a gambit faster you know which Fast Builders to use.

Known Issues:
  • API LIMITATION: The API does not allow you to determine whether the client is in layout mode (CTRL + \) or not. If you load the plugin in layout mode, turn layout mode off and reload the plugin.
  • Skills might be off if you have just trained a new skill or gambit and have not leveled up afterwards, used /we2 refresh, or unload/reloaded the plugin. If you have trained a gambit and want it to show up on your gambit bars, please use /we2 refresh or unload and then reload the plugin.
  • When building gambits via the quickslot keys WE2 shows you, the refreshing mechanism that I use to keep tooltips updated makes it appear that a skill currently in the queue is actually not (as the dotted box won't appear around the skill button). I plan to fix this is a future update.

Please contact me with any problems.

Version History:

Version 3.3
  • Added translations for German clients. Many thanks for Burgus for the translations and inspiration to get it working and completed.
  • Fixed an issue when loading WardenEase2 using the Turbine Plugin Manager. The number of gambits were not showing up correctly due to the way Turbine loads in plugins and character attributes. You should now be able to automatically load WardenEase2 using the Turbine Plugin Manager without problems.
  • Added the ability to show/hide the recovery skills and the fast builder skills.

Version 2.5
  • Fixed issues that arose after Helm's Deep was released.
  • Possibly fixed an issue with ranged gambits not displaying correctly in the color coded helper.

Version 2.31
  • Now with less chat spam!

Version 2.3
  • Fixed an issue where the number of Fast Builders might be smaller than expected, causing the window to be larger than it should be. Or not since it was impossible to test this bug but the code was wrong. Who knows.
  • Add ability to move around the main WE2 window, basically reversing the direction the window is set up.
  • Added option to allow users to switch locations of the fast loaders in the 3x3 grid.
  • Fast Builders should now always show the proper tooltip.
  • Redundant code is now redundant. As such it has been removed.

Version 2.1
  • As this was a big change in terms of coding and features, I have skipped all the way to v2.1.
  • Fixed an error that caused European clients to have their save data corrupted, again. Thanks to Garan for his help solving this issue. Again.
  • Added key overlay that displays the key you should pressed to use a builder/gambit.
  • Added highlighting to the builders/gambit so the user knows if an incorrect builder was used.
  • Added customization of the individual gambit bars, so the user can hide gambits they no longer wish to see.
  • Some overall improvements in efficiency, coding, and usage. Less possibilities for errors and memory leaks. Backend stuff mostly.
  • When updating from a pre2.1 version, your settings will be wiped and you'll have to redo your settings. This is to make your settings compatible with the VindarPatch and other upgrades I did.

Version 0.99
  • Added all Spear gambit tooltips, which will change based on stance.
  • Fixed an error that caused European clients to have their save data corrupted. Thanks Barbatruck for bringing this to my attention and Garan for his LUA Tutorial on how to deal with this.

Version 0.93
  • Added all Fist gambit tooltips, which will change based on stance.
  • Fixed an error when a user did not have the first Recovery skill trained that prevented the plugin from loading. Thanks lebordeluche!
  • Fixed issue with tooltips displaying out of screen and behind other UI elements.

Version 0.9
  • Added all Shield gambit tooltips, which will change based on stance.
  • Fixed an error when a first-time user loaded WE2 and did not have a save file. Thanks wmrojer for bringing this to my attention!

Version 0.8
  • "LevelChanged" event for LocalPlayer will now play nicely with other plugins.
  • The Default Gambit skill will now show the correct tooltip even when a Gambit is being produced.
  • Tooltips implemention started. Conviction will show its tooltip based on stance.
  • Removed dependency on Turbine Utilities.

Version 0.7 - Initial Release
Note: When you first upgrade from a previous version (0.5 for example) of WardenEase to WardenEase2, your settings will be wiped due to some errors that had come up over time. This is to ensure your settings are stable. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Icons scale

As far as I know, there is no user-accessible option to change the scale nor do the elements of the plugin respect the universal scaling of the UI.

Red face u35 New Gambits

LOTRO update patch 35 introduced 6 new gambits (actually 12 since there are ranged and melee versions of each):

Deflection (Assailment and Determination versions): 3-2-1
Spear of Fate/Javelin of Fate: 3-1-3-1-3
Cauterizing Steel/Ranged Cauterizing Steel: 1-2-1-2-1
Unseen Strikes/Ranged Unseen Strikes: 1-3-1-3-1
Readied Blade (Assailment and Determination versions): 2-3-1
Shield Up (Assailment and Determination versions): 2-1-3

WardenEase2 continues to work great, these new gambits simply have to be added to the __init__.lua file. I added them to the end of the English list which begins with...
Code:
else
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Adroit Manoeuvre"] = {1,3,2,1}
...and ends with...
Code:
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Warden's Triumph"] = {1,3,2,1,3}
The exact lines added are:
Code:
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Deflection"] = {3,2,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Ranged Deflection"] = {3,2,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Spear of Fate"] = {3,1,3,1,3}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Javelin of Fate"] = {3,4,3,4,3}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Cauterizing Steel"] = {1,2,1,2,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Ranged Cauterizing Steel"] = {4,2,4,2,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Unseen Strikes"] = {1,3,1,3,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Ranged Unseen Strikes"] = {4,3,4,3,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Readied Blade"] = {2,3,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Ranged Readied Blade"] = {2,3,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Shield Up"] = {2,1,3}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Ranged Shield Up"] = {2,4,3}
There is also an equivalent list for the German language client. I do not speak German, I just used Google Translate. Here are the lines to add to the bottom of the German gambit list, right under this line:
Code:
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Triumph des H\195\188ters"] = {1,3,2,1,3}
Code:
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Ablenkung"] = {3,2,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Fernablenkung"] = {3,2,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Speer des Schicksals"] = {3,1,3,1,3}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Fernkampfspeer des Schicksals"] = {3,4,3,4,3}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Kauterisieren von Stahl"] = {1,2,1,2,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Fernkauterisierender Stahl"] = {4,2,4,2,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Unsichtbare Schläge"] = {1,3,1,3,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Unsichtbare Fernschläge"] = {4,3,4,3,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Fertige Klinge"] = {2,3,1}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Fernkampfbereite Klinge"] = {2,3,4}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Schild hoch"] = {2,1,3}
  SDRPlugins.WardenEase2.Gambits["Fernkampfschild hoch"] = {2,4,3}
I have tested this with the English client and it works as expected: The new gambits are added and display sorted among the other gambits using whatever scheme WardenEase2 uses for sorting. I did not test with the German client. If I got the translations wrong let me know and I will fix them – but you can blame Google, not me!

I plan to upload a replacement __init__.lua file which can be applied as a "patch" to an existing installation of WardenEase2. Here's hoping the author returns and updates this fantastic plugin himself, I literally would not play my Warden without it and I really love playing my Warden! So I'm very happy this plugin exists and was so easy to update for the new gambits in the u35 patch.

The mod is perfectly "usable" as it is. I use it with my Warden toons every time I play them. Did so just yesterday.

Is there something specific that isn't working for you? I am not the author but perhaps I can help.

Not sure if anyone is checking this anymore, but I just discovered it and thought I'd make a suggestion.

The black default background for unused spaces in the builder is really distracting. Is there any way to make the background transparent, or if necessary for visibility to just have a standard LotRO UI outline?

Either way, LOVE the plugin! It's made me want to play my Warden again, which I haven't done since RoI.
I haven't really been playing LOTRO or keeping up with these plugins. If I find some time, I'll take a look, but if someone else wants to patch this plugin (or upload a completely new version), they are free to do so.

Left-to-right rather than right-to-left?

Is there any way to get the gambit builders in the quickslots to populate from left to right rather than right to left?

For example, if I have a 2-builder gambit selected the two builders will populate the 2 slots furthest to the right. The first 3 slots are empty.

I'd like to be able to populate the slots from left to right so that a 2-builder gambit would fill the 2 slots furthest to the left leaving the last 3 slots empty. This would permit me to set the WE2 Quickslots bar directly above or below my UI's default gambit panel so that I can use WE2 to tell me what I need to punch in to get the gambit I want and the gambit panel will match the WE2 bar assuming I punch in the correct builders.

Thanks again for this very useful plugin!

Great add on, thank you for it!

I really liked my Warden but I need my brain cells for work, I couldn’t dedicate so many of them to memorizing gambit formulas. So I didn’t play him much and when I did I either used just a few gambits or had post-it notes stuck all over my monitor. But since I tried this addon I began enjoying my Warden much more. There’s still more rote stuff to remember than I’d prefer but this addon has made it easier to keep the bulk of it offloaded from my wetware yet still getting to use more of my Warden’s gambits. I’m even starting to just build gambits without even using this addon’s hints all the time so it’s been a good learning tool.

Great job! Please keep it working as LOTRO changes over time.

Edit: Found the solution. For some reason the plugins use the resolution of the windowed resolution, even if you cannot change it and it still is full-screen. You need to switch back to windowed or fullscreen display, change the resolution of windowed resolution so that it's the same as fullscreen, then switch back to windowed fullscreen. The plugin should be rightly displayed.
The reason for this is to prevent it from being "lost" off screen if you change resolutions, it bounds itself to inside your screen resolution, which it gets from the game. Luckily that was an easy fix!

With update 15.2 came windowed fullscreen, and for some reason the plugin doesn't show at the right place (and cannot be moved further right than the center of the screen). That happens even if the game was loaded in windowed fullscreen.

For some reason, if I put the game in fullscreen mode, place back the plugin (in the bottom-right corner) and switch back to windowed fullscreen, the plugin stays there.
