Description
GreySkin UI

First and foremost, i would like to thank all the UI author in this site for their outstanding creations. It is them that spur me on doing some UI modding

I would like to especially thank the authors of MonsterTime, NUI, Celtic, Dhurin's Folk and FoL for which i got my UI created.

I like FoL's/Dhurin's Folk UI for most part and thus used their fantastic UI as a base for creating mine. Also borrowed some images from the other UI mentioned above, edited them abit to suit my theme.

All in all this is a compilation of a few UI

Hope people like this UI

Version 2.1
- Replace the tabs/buttons with those from Dhurin's Folk and changed the color to grey to match the theme

Version 2.11
- Replace the window title graphics from those in Dhurin's Folk and edited to match the theme

Version 2.11a
- To fix the download problem thus i had to give it a new version (its still version 2.11), sorry about it >.<

Version 2.2
- Did some graphics changes to mainly to the borders and window title

Version 3.0
- Played around with the UI position and sizing. Refer to image for details. This is meant for resolution of 1280 x 1024. You will need to select "GreySkin UI v3" (all the graphics and layout will be messy) then logout and login again for the changes to work since the game doesn't have a reload ui command.

Version 3.1
- This version is same as version 3.0 except that the bottom quickslot bar shows 4 instead of the current 2. You might need to re-log again after choosing the UI.

Version 3.2
- Updated the bottom bar and quickslots graphics. You might need to adjust your quickslot for bar1 and above since i shifted the bottom bar a bit. Sorry about that
- Made the mini buttons (main menu, crafting, bags, etc) smaller

Version 3.3
- Same as version 3.2 but includes a 2slot and 3slot bottom bar (was suppose to include it into 3.2 but i uploaded to soon )
- If you want to use either a 2slot or 3slot quickslot bottom bar display, rename the files "gs_main_panel_letterbox_2slots" or "gs_main_panel_letterbox_3slots" to "gs_main_panel_letterbox". Select "none" then "GreySkin UI v3" to get the UI to update.

Version 3.3a
- Same as version 3.2 but includes all of 3.3 and extra bottom bars for resolution of 1440 and 1680. You need to rename the "gs_main_panel_letterbox_<resolution>_<numberofslo t>" file to "gs_main_panel_letterbox" then select "none" then "GreySkin UI v3" to get the UI to update.

Version 3.3b
- Added bottom bar image for 1600 resolution

Version 4.0
- Changed the way the bottom bar image was from ver3.x. Pls see image for details
- A few images changes to border, buttons, etc
- Added a readme with simple instruction on the position of the bottom bar image

Bad news

Thanks for those that still support this UI but unfortunately, i won't be able to update this UI anymore as i am no longer playing the game (been a while now).

So whoever wish to take over this UI, you have my permission to do what you deem fit with it.

I am sorry this day had to come

All the best to those still in this game!

Are you done with this interface?

Maximoz,
Are you done adding onto this interface? Or are you planning on doing more with it? Maybe you have moved onto a new interface to delight us?

What are your plans?

Even with all the new interfaces that have popped up on LotroInterface.com I still like this one the best and would love to see more added onto it now that there is more that can be done with interfaces.

Thanks,
Jalida

/Edit: Nevermind, changed the way i want it, so dont need help on that anymore

Love the ui, I prefer 3.1 myself.
Got a question tho, I tweaked it to work for my tastes, on 1024x768, and i got it exactly how i want it, accept one thing.

This is how i want it:
http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/560...ot00002au7.jpg

But every time i login, the chat moves up(see below), im assuming its happening because of where the quickbars were.
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/4...ot00001vh6.jpg

I just started lotro a cpl days ago, and did that within about 20 mins. And to be honest, dont want to get further into editing/making ui's in this game, as i got burnt on making them for wow way back when. :x

So, is there a way to fix this?

Thanks for the help and great ui

I can't get version 4 working. I'm running 1680x1050. I made the adjustments you suggested but its appearing as the main toolbar window at the bottom is doubled in size. This is what my screen looks like after the changes to the XML. I love the way it looks in the screenshot for version 4. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not too good when it comes to using the skin editor. Thank you.

@ Gracey

First of all you need to download version 3.3a under the "Archive List (Old Versions)".

Then follow the below instructions to get it to align :

================================================== =========
Open up "SkinDefinition.xml" and do the following:

Replace 830 with 856 (574 if you decide to use "windowed mode" of 786) and 1280 with 1680. This should place the bottom bar nicely at the bottom i hope.
Code:
        <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="0" Y="830" Width="1280" Height="204" Detach="1">
            <Element ID="ToolbarFieldMain" X="0" Y="0" Width="1280" Height="204"></Element>
Next you will need to increment the value in those X="" for those lines below (if you add 50 to the first value, do add the same for the rest):
Code:
            <Element ID="AutoAttackIndicatorButton" X="400" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
            <Element ID="ViolentModeIndicator"      X="400" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_AutoAttack_TutorialHighlight" X="400" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
            <Element ID="GamePlay_FervorPipDisplay" X="387" Y="122" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>
            <Element ID="GamePlay_AimPipDisplay"    X="387" Y="122" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>
            <Element ID="Toolbar_Quickslot" X="475" Y="156" Width="420" Height="35"></Element>
Lastly, replace 1253 with 1653 for these lines:
Code:
            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_Inventory"  X="1253" Y="55" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory2" X="1253" Y="85" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory3" X="1253" Y="115" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory4" X="1253" Y="145" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory5" X="1253" Y="175" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
Once all done, save the file and login to the game and see if the changes are correct. If not, change them then logout and login again to see.
================================================== =========

If you are using "Windowed Mode" then the UI will get messed up since the game doesn't size the UI correctly when the resolution changes unfortunately.

So those switching between Full Screen and Windowed Mode will have sizing issues Thus you will have to stick to either mode for the time being.

WARNING: Newbie! (UI isn't looking right...)

EDIT: Ok umm.. Duh? Ok each "look" in the screenshots is that version? Soooo I like 3.2 I should install 3.2 not the latest of 4.0? hehe Going to try that... :P

Ok this is the first time I'm trying to use a custom UI on LOTRO, I've got it all "installed" in the folders etc... BUT, I log into the game select the UI and it shows up, but the "Auto Attack and Default Bars I've been using from the default UI don't "blip" to the custom UI, and it doesn't look like I can move the bars....to "fit" where the buttons are in the UI. Also, the 3.2 image is the one I liked with the menu buttons and bags on the sides of the chat boxes... How do I get it to look like that please?

I'll keep looking around on the site, but I read through the FAQ to install it, and I'm looking through the Readme.txt for the GreySkin UI, but nothing is clicking yet on how to fix it.

Any help would be apprecaited. Thank you. (1680 x1050 Res, Window'd is about is the 1680 x 768 res) That help at all?

The UI looks really cool though btw! Nice job, just wish I could get it to work in my game. LOL

Thanks,
Gracey
(Operator Error) hehe

I have added a 5 slotted bar as an addon to this page. It is for people running 1680 screen resolution only. Basically the original 1680 4 slotted bottom bar wouldn't allow a 5th bar in it's current configuration, so what I did was to take the celtic looking stripe at the top of the bottom bar, and shrink it down to make it thinner this then allowed another slotted bar placement above the rest.

You can find the link to it at the top of this page listed under patches and or addons, or go here: http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/info115.html

4.0 Version Download Missing!?!?

Where is it? The screenshots of what you just updated look amazing! I can't wait to try it.. but when I looked for the download, theres a Version 3.3B, and when I download it, it definatly isn't your 4.0 version. Where is it? Can't wait to try it... Great job!

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out what I did wrong. I was looking for it in the Archive history section.. I'm good now! Gonna go try it now!

Re: Re: Great Skin

Hi again.

The inteface in my screenshot is all out of your interface. I've not replaced any elements with anybody elses.

Okay, I must have missed part of the instructions. I found that you included multiple letterbox images and once I put gs_main_panel_letterbox_1680_4slot.tga in the SkinDefinition.xml file I got what I was wanting. I had forgotten that the 4 rows of icons were a static background image and not an actual component in the interface. So now it looks excellent.

Thanks again.

p.s. for some reason the skin editor doesn't work properly on my system, so when I try to load up your skin it just produces a possible syntax error, something to the effect of can't load bla bla bla, please check syntax of the skin. Something like that. Plus it's really not designed for wide screen monitors so the toolbar editor is too small for me to work in since I can't see the whole toolbar at one time without scrolling, so I guess for now I'll just stick to the tedius process of reloading the game each time.

Re: Great Skin

@Jalida

First, thanks for the great comment ! Much appreciated

Now to your problem ...

If you can, download this Editor from http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...kinEditor.html and follow the instructions on the program to get the main quickslot (quickslot bar 1 to 5 you need to use ctrl \ to unlock then move them), autoattack button and level meter to align properly. I highly recommend this method as its so much easier to do the adjustments !

Else if you want to do it manually, you need to decrease the numbers shown in bold and red of these below lines (note that you need to logout then in again for any changes you made which can be tedious) :

<Element ID="LevelMeter" X="474" Y="184" Width="420" Height="30">
<Element ID="AutoAttackIndicatorButton" X="450" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
<Element ID="ViolentModeIndicator" X="450" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_AutoAttack_TutorialHighlight" X="450" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
<Element ID="GamePlay_FervorPipDisplay" X="437" Y="122" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>
<Element ID="GamePlay_AimPipDisplay" X="437" Y="122" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>
<Element ID="Toolbar_Quickslot" X="525" Y="156" Width="420" Height="35"></Element>

One thing of note is the bottom bar you are using, which version is that you are using and also which file did you rename to get it may i ask ?

With regards to the chat tabs, i think they can be changed, but i'll have to look into it.

Great Skin

Very nice additions to the skin.

I do have some problems with it though on 1680x1050. See the screenshot below:
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/1740/askewob3.jpg

The 4 rows of icon holders and the sword don't line up with the eyeball and the rest of the interface and Im not sure what it is that I would have to change to get the sword to move over underneath the eyeball and the 4 rows of icon holders.

Here is the code in my skindefinition.xml file:
Code:
<PanelFile ID="toolbar">
        <Element ID="ToolbarField" X="0" Y="856" Width="1680" Height="204" Detach="1">
            <Element ID="ToolbarFieldMain" X="0" Y="0" Width="1680" Height="204"></Element>

            <Element ID="LevelMeter" X="474" Y="184" Width="420" Height="30">
                <Element ID="LevelMeterFill" X="5" Y="12" Width="420" Height="6">
                    <Element ID="LevelMeter_BonusMeter" X="0" Y="0" Width="420" Height="6"></Element>
                </Element>
                <Element ID="ToolbarButton_LevelUpXP_TutorialHighlight" X="0" Y="10" Width="420" Height="10"></Element>
                <Element ID="ToolbarButton_Experience_TutorialHighlight" X="0" Y="10" Width="420" Height="10"></Element>
                <Element ID="LevelMeterText" X="3" Y="10" Width="420" Height="10"></Element>
            </Element>

            <Element ID="AutoAttackIndicatorButton" X="450" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
            <Element ID="ViolentModeIndicator"      X="450" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_AutoAttack_TutorialHighlight" X="450" Y="140" Width="63" Height="63"></Element>
            <Element ID="GamePlay_FervorPipDisplay" X="437" Y="122" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>
            <Element ID="GamePlay_AimPipDisplay"    X="437" Y="122" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>

            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_MainMenu"        X="5" Y="25" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_Crafting"        X="5" Y="55" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_Social"          X="5" Y="85" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_Accomplishment"  X="5" Y="115" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Quest"           X="5" Y="145" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_Journal"         X="5" Y="175" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>

            <Element ID="ToolbarButton_Inventory"  X="1653" Y="50" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory2" X="1653" Y="80" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory3" X="1653" Y="110" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory4" X="1653" Y="140" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>
            <Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory5" X="1653" Y="170" Width="25" Height="25"></Element>

            <Element ID="Toolbar_Quickslot" X="525" Y="156" Width="420" Height="35"></Element>
        </Element>
Maybe you can point out what it is that I missed. Also I dont know if it's even possible but is there a way of making the chat tabs smaller in height so that I can fit one more line in the chat window? Or are they not an element that can be altered at this time?

Thanks for helping and creating a great skin.

P.S. You've now won the coveted 5 star of excellence vote on my behalf. One of the best skins out there and very few others that I would give a 5 star rating to.

I am using Version 2.2 on my main, and I love it. Only problem is I went to make an alt today and whey I picked the UI, I get something like this...

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4...ot00000mq4.jpg

I tried other versions and I get the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.
Hmmm i tried with 1 character logout using 2.2 (making sure everything looks okay) and then created an alt, login and choose "GreySkinUI v2" and everything looks okay.

You case happen usually when you are using ver3 and above and you choose to use ver2.

One thing you can try to do is select version 2.2 then logout and login again. This should usually fixed the issue.
