I had the same issue and it was the turbine plugin classes were missing and needed to be there.

@Balgosa It's good to see someone else had the same issue Sorry for being a noob at this but I also found another friend of mine with the same problem who just emailed me *laughs* Do you have any idea where I can download these Turbine plugin classes from?

Ah okay, I should add that step to the installation instructions. It's good to read these instructions first http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...Lua-UI-scripts. So you need to unzip this package (may need this to do it) to your 'Documents\The Lord Of The Rings Online\' folder.

I'm just about to make a new release of Songbook.

@Chiran Thank you for the help, Chiran and for the link too. I'd been trying to find that link but somehow Google failed me this once

a stop play button
I think the only way to stop playing is either to move or type /music. So in that sense toggle music button also acts as a stop button.

sync play (already mentioned)
group start (to go with sync play)

support for folders inside folders inside /music
Yes, been thinking about this too. I like to separate duettos etc in their own directories.

Quote:
sorting of songs in the list (maybe by name: example: filenames with -duet in the title would be under a duet category)
Related to the previous one, yes I'm sure there can be improvements for making managing large libraries more convenient.

Quote:
removal of .abc and _ replaced by spaces in display of song names
Currently I chose strictly to go with filenames. But yes, this is one option to tidy up a bit. Unless I try to read the song name from the abc file itself.

That would all be great! Great work so far! I'm trying to think of a way to solve the vb script issue, but I'm not sure how much can be run from in-game and i don't think default lua can actually do a directory search
Yes, that is the problem. At the moment the only way to do it is to use an external application or script. I thought VBScript would be easy to validate for safety and fast to develop. Also, with a shortcut it's pretty quick to run whenever you make changes to your music directory. Making an application that runs on the background polling for new files might be bit of an overkill.

you can actually hit the ` key to stop play. but I'm not sure if there's a slash command. I couldn't find one

I thought it would just make it look neater

Oh, didn't know that. Have to experiment with it a bit.

You can right click songbook.vbs and choose 'Create a shortcut'. It creates a shortcut file (.lnk) you can use to run the script. Right click that file and add your lotro user name (and documents parameter if you need it) to the end of Target field. Then you can move that shortcut to anywhere you like and double click it to run the script.

I don't think you can unload individual plugins at the moment. Hopefully that will be fixed eventually.

Made version 0.21... forgot a debug line to the vbs script . I wonder what else I forgot at this hour.

songbook vbs script

I think I must be doing something wrong but after downloading and unzipping I select the vbs file to run with command prompt and it keeps giving me the error that I need to add lotro user name, when I click ok it just closes the command script window.

I'm sure this is just me not fully understanding what I need to do! I'm running Vista 64-bit if that matter.

Thanks in advance.

Help

I don't get what "use the supplied vbs script file to build your library. Run the script from command line by typing 'songbook <your lotro login name>'" is asking me to do. I've never done anything with scripts or .vbs. I'm running XP if it matters.

We were discussing this a few posts back and I would suggest the same here.

Easiest way to run the script is:
1) Right click songbook.vbs and choose 'Create a shortcut'. It creates a shortcut file (.lnk). You can rename the file if you like.
2) Right click the created shorcut file, select Properties, click Target field and and a space and your Lotro username at the end. Username is what you use when you log in to Lotro. Plugins use the username as a directory name when saving your plugin settings. The target field should then read, for example: "C:\Users\Chiran\Desktop\songbook.vbs" Chiran Then click Ok.
3) You can then move the shortcut file where ever you like, for example to your desktop. Double clicking the shortcut will run the script. Run it whenever you have added or deleted abc files.
4) Done .

Edit:
Oh... I was ending up with my username on the wrong side of that last "

Thanks

Uh?

I keep getting the error that my Music folder doesn't exist... but it does! And has lots of .abc files in it and it is in the default location, I haven't moved anything around... any ideas what's going on here?

If it matters at all, I'm on Windows 7

Angry Also having the same problem....

I run the songbook program PRIOR to loading the plugin, and I get a popup window that says it has found 40 .abc files and has created the directory. Yet, when I load the plugin, It says my directory is empty....
