Description
Quickfix

Either myself or Adobe Bridge messed up because the Swarm Vitals were not included (again.) You have three choices:

1) Redownload the updated v.3.1 ROTR Skinpack
2) Go to the forum thread and download the swarm_vitals.tga and drop it into your Riders of the Riddermark\Vitals\ folder
(http://www.lotrointerface.com/forums/showthread.php?t=560&page=6)
3) Go download the new LM Eorlingas cause it's wicked.

Riders of the Riddermark (ROTR) March 21/08 - AS IS v3
--------------------------------------------------

Fixes

-Fixed the Journal button in the Toolbar, before it would display a gray box
-Fixed the Title Active selection, before it would display a gray box
-Fixed the Trait borders under the Equipped Traits tab in the Character
Journal, before they would display gray boxes
-Fixed Swarm Vitals and changed Basic Opponent Vitals, Swarm Vitals would
display gray box

Sorry about any inconveniences this may have caused.

History

This UI skin was specifically developed for the kin I am apart of on Meneldor. You can probably guess the name of the kin according to the name of the UI skin. When I was in the first stage of developing the toolbar, I realised the potential this concept had. I decided to not only release it to my kin, but to the public as well. I don't know what I would do without this website. I'm so glad there is such a thing as LotroInterface.com.

Quick Update***
Something happened with the ZIP file which duplicated a lot of the images subsequently making the file size 8 mb. I uploaded a new ZIP file which is only 3.5 MB roughly.

Sorry, I don't know what happened there

Riders of the Riddermark (ROTR) March 16/08 - AS IS v2
--------------------------------------------------

I am releasing the AS IS version of the UI, meaning it is 95% complete aside from some selection skins.

This will be a good chance for the public to try out the skin and let me know:
a) What to improve on
b) What to add
c) What to change

Also, I haven't heard anything back from Frosty yet regarding the minimap positioning so the minimap skin will stay as default until then.

Basically, the bone, muscle and most of the flesh is included in this release.

So please, download the AS IS version of the skin and let me know what you think.

IMPORTANT****

There is a tutorial in the SkinDictionary.xml file which will explain how to adjust the skin to suit your screen resolution. It's important to do this before you try and load the skin into the game.

The tutorial found in the SkinDictionary.xml file is as follows:

Quote:
<!-- RESOLUTION TUTORIAL

To adjust the skin to the proper resolution, follow these steps:

x-value = (xresolution - 612) / 2
y-value = (yresolution) - 85

Example:

If you're resolution is 1600 x 900 (Widescreen) it would look something like this:

X = "x-value"
X = "(1600 - 612) / 2 = 988 / 2 = 494"
X = "494"

Y = "y-value"
Y = "900 - 85 = 815"
Y = "815"

Now input those numbers into the code:

<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="x-value" Y="y-value" Width="612" Height="85" Detach="1">

Goodluck! If you do this correct I gaurantee it will work 100%!

-->
BONUS ***

There is an exclusive image of the prototype toolbar for the new Men of the West (Gondor Movie Theme) UI skin.

Go nuts!

I found the tutorial on how to adjust for my resolution (1400x900), but I don't know how to actually modify the value. What program do I need to open the skindefination xml with in order to modify the values?

Well if you've found the tutorial then you've already opened the correct program and its ready to modify.

**NOTE** You can modify the SkinDictionary.xml file with Notepad. Every Windows OS is equipped with this program.

If you take a look right below the tutorial text in SkinDefiniton.xml you will see this block of code:

Quote:
<PanelFile ID="toolbar">
<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="x-value" Y="y-value" Width="612" Height="85" Detach="1">
<Element ID="ToolbarFieldMain" X="0" Y="0" Width="612" Height="85"></Element>

<Element ID="LevelMeter" X="43" Y="66" Width="513" Height="30">
<Element ID="LevelMeterFill" X="0" Y="12" Width="513" Height="6">
<Element ID="LevelMeter_BonusMeter" X="0" Y="0" Width="513" Height="6"></Element>
</Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_LevelUpXP_TutorialHighlight" X="0" Y="12" Width="513" Height="6"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_Experience_TutorialHighlight" X="0" Y="12" Width="513" Height="6"></Element>
<Element ID="LevelMeterText" X="0" Y="10" Width="513" Height="10"></Element>
</Element>

<Element ID="AutoAttackIndicatorButton" X="49" Y="21" Width="64" Height="64"></Element>
<Element ID="ViolentModeIndicator" X="49" Y="21" Width="64" Height="64"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_AutoAttack_TutorialHighlight" X="49" Y="21" Width="64" Height="64"></Element>
<Element ID="GamePlay_FervorPipDisplay" X="36" Y="3" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>
<Element ID="GamePlay_AimPipDisplay" X="38" Y="5" Width="90" Height="42"></Element>

<Element ID="ToolBarButton_MainMenu" X="104" Y="8" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_Crafting" X="131" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_Social" X="157" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_Accomplishment" X="183" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolBarButton_Quest" X="209" Y="8" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolbarButton_Journal" X="235" Y="8" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>

<Element ID="ToolbarButton_Inventory" X="491" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory2" X="465" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory3" X="439" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory4" X="413" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>
<Element ID="ToolBarButton_Inventory5" X="387" Y="7" Width="18" Height="18"></Element>

<Element ID="Toolbar_Quickslot" X="125" Y="39" Width="420" Height="35"></Element>
</Element>
</PanelFile>
You will need to adjust the values for the code found in the first couple lines:

Quote:
<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="x-value" Y="y-value" Width="612" Height="85" Detach="1">
You will need to adjust X="x-value" and Y="y-value" specifically what is in the quotations. In your case the code would look like this after you modified it:

Quote:
<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="394" Y="815" Width="612" Height="85" Detach="1">
This is the formula to achieve these numbers:

Quote:
X = "x-value"
X = "(1400 - 612) / 2 = 788 / 2 = 394"
**note 1400 is your Xresolution
X = "394"

Y = "y-value"
Y = "900 - 85 = 815"
**note 900 is your Yresolution
Y = "815"
Once you've punched in the correct numbers, go File>Save. I know it looks a little complicated but you'll get used to it. You can pretty much use this formula for any other UI to adjust the toolbar to the appropriate settings, save a few minor things. If you're wondering why you're subtracting 612 from your Xresolution and 85 from your Yresolution it's because the width and height values of the toolbar itself is 612 x 85. So of course if you were going to use this formula for any other authors UI, you would have to substitute 612 x 85 with their UI's toolbar's width and height values.

Hope this helps!

If your still having problems feel free to PM me or post another comment.

By the way, what does everyone think of the prototype Men of the West (Gondor Movie Theme) toolbar?

Thanks for the help! It works fine, and looks fantastic.

As for the Gondor theme: Very nice thus far, I have a character that I'll certainly use it with, if this turns out half as good as the Rohirric theme.

I tried this by following all steps, even finding out what my resolution was set too in game. However, the icons on the bottom toolbar are way off, they don't fill the slots and the toolbar is broken up into two parts. How do I go about fixing this?

Thank You!!

Thanks for downloading. Well, with any UI with an adjusted SkinDictionary.xml file, you will need to restart the LotRO client after choosing the skin. What happens is, LotRO keeps the default xml data (positions, sizes) causing the UI to look like poop. If you set the UI to ROTR and then restart your client, it should work. I've heard of cases where you needed to restart a couple times.

See if that works.

I really like what I'm seeing, the Target Frames/portraits look great and the tabs you came up with are very interesting, it's particularly neat for me to see what another fellow UI enthusiast does with the Rohan motif that has kept me so engrossed lately. Keep up the good work!
