Hi,
Iam on french client, and the plugin doesn't work for me. I dont get any error, and i can run the plugin and enter into options, but i cant get any effect in the game.

Can someone help me if they know the problem or know what to do? I allready tried to delete plugindata.

I'd offer to help but I'm terrible at coding. I can recognize most of what's going on in the code and can modify it a little but am utterly useless for creating new code. For example: I cannot figure out how to modify the line 'generator' loop to include the word "(CRIT)" or "(DEV)" after the attack name in addition to the different colors for easy ID of the attack quality.

Update: My current flavor of the plugin no longer shows regular hit damage but still displays crits and devs in larger font and at half speed (I understand the pointlessness of both being half speed when they're the only things showing :P). Power is no longer tracked. I also increased the maximum values for margins to 500 all around.

To Author: I'd like permission to redistribute altered versions to people who ask for it.

@Thraxz thanks for your ideas. i thought 200 px is enough for top/bottom margins, but its no problem to make this to 500 or 600px max.
in future releases checkboxes for enabling/disabling the dmg types will come.
i also planned to add more options for crit/dev dmg and some left/option for
values. but thats more work and i didnt want to make it too complicated.

Hello there, I love the idea behind this, though I had to modify it some.

On my 1920x1200 screen, only having 200 pixels of margin vertically per up/down was prohibitively huge. I was able to go in an manually adjust the max value to 500 and that made it a manageable size.

I also went in and adjusted the regular crits to be included with the devs on the half speed scroll and increased size, though I was not able to make the devs even larger (I set crit equal to the dev's size 11 and then tried to make the devs size 13 and then the plugin simply omitted them, rather than display them even larger at size 13 .

I'd love for some check boxes to simply not follow things like self power heals (really frequent and not worth viewing with my hunter's bow of the righteous traited) or heals under a value. I'd also like to see a check box to not display non-crits for each subsection (I'd love to see crits only for me, but want to see regular incoming hits, for example).

On the VERY wishful list, I was wondering if we could ever designate paths for the text to scroll down, such as left and right justified in 'parenthesis' around my character, in a similar pattern as palantir's health/power, but the damage messages scrolling up or down the paranthesis.

Ty for this. It's a lot easier to spot big shots now (also can you have a check box to disregard auto attacks?)

i never had any issues like that. speed=1 should be very very slow. speed=20 is quite fast.

slow text feed is not slow enough ....?

hi there,

I like the plug in and find it nice to be able to see what happens, when u crit etc etc.

Problem is although i select the scrolling text speed slider to the lowest value (1) the text flows so rapidly I can hardly read it, which I am surprised about.

I wondered if I was having some glitch, but I tried so many times and after so many login-logouts and on both my toons, and even after the very recent update. But nada... always so fast flowing so I decided to post about it.

Please can I get some advice?

it displays all pending fight messages. if you set the scrolling speed very low
it needs some time to display all the messages coz they are queued for display when the old messages not scrolled at least 1 line.

may i will add some feature that stops it when combat is finished. sometimes your char has a wound or something that still ticks.

Is there any way to make the scrolling combat text stop after a fight? I had to turn the plugin off after a long bossfight in a raid because it would just keep on feeding me text.

kommt mit ziemlicher Sicherheit bald, allerdings werden es dann ganz schöne viele Farben
derzeit werden Verwüstungen noch mit der Crit Farbe aber langsam scrollend und ganz gross angezeit.

@Amorgos da war eh noch was buggy. Was meist hilft, ist unter
PluginData/Account/Server/Char die ScrollingCombatText.plugindata zu löschen.
Teste dann mal die V 0.2.0 die läuft recht smooth

Ich hab nur leider das Problem, dass im Plugin Manager keine Optionen verfügbar sind, weiß da jemand Rat?

Well it works for sure, and I can see the potential of it Hoping it will be as good as the one for wow eventually.

Two requests though, if possible.

Show quest updates (and hide the default onscreen update if possible)
Being able to have individual scrolling settings for damage taken, damage done etc like damage taken being offset to the left while damage done offset to the right for example.

Looking forward to seeing what you can do with this!

Also, text sometimes gets stuck. Settings doesnt seem to take effect unless the plugin reloaded. But you probably know of that already.

Authors can download over 80 samples for various existing plugins that I autogenerated here and include in future versions of their plugins.

Important Note to Authors:
that values and tags are case sensative
the name field must match what lotrointerface has as title of your addon. Otherwise you risk 2 plugins appearing in UI.
make sure to increment version #. If you do not the row will keep showing that they need to update your addon, when they already have latest.
the information in these needs to be kept up to date when new releases are done for it to work correctly. I have analysed the plugins and noticed many authors do not keep the ".plugin" files in sync wish each release. The name of plugin, version, and even authors have been all over the place. This configuration file is yet another way I know thinks can get out of sync.
