Could we get Zercleanui to UIbuilder? The DIY instructions are a bit confusing.

Bug Report: Ver 3.1.1: Using either Diamon UI toolbar results in a missing graphic for the Champion Fervour meter, Hunter Focus meter, and RK small Attunement (the one on the autoattack button). Since the skindefinition.xml file is created in a subdirectory under the name of the UI that's save, all graphics references need to be preceeded by "..\". This is missing on all references to "null.tga" in the based definition.xml files for both Diamon UI toolbars. Updated the skindefinition.xml as noted above resulted in successful rendering of the graphics for above mentioned meters. Recommend updating the base files in the Toolbars directory in your next revision.

I will again stated that I absolutely love this project and I'm pleased with the direction it's heading. Keep up the good work.

I did a little editing to the skindefinition file to get it working on my laptop.
I am using the smallbar in 1366x768 Windowed resolution. The bar was a real pain to get lined up, i only needed to edit the X value to sort it out. Everything else worked right away.
I didn't test every toolbar at every resolution but I believe (from calculation) it would be centered at 1366X768 in full screen mode. It would not be possible to setup every windowed mode as MS Windows window border are different on some systems.

Thanks so much for this awesome little tool! It allows people to have a UI exactly how they want it.

I did a little editing to the skindefinition file to get it working on my laptop.
I am using the smallbar in 1366x768 Windowed resolution. The bar was a real pain to get lined up, i only needed to edit the X value to sort it out. Everything else worked right away.

So to anyone else who decides to use the awesome Smallbar, on a laptop resolution of 1366x768 in windowed mode, edit the line below:

<Element ID="ToolbarField" X="395" Y="2000" Width="420" Height="50">

As you can see i have changed the X value only. Everything else is as it should be.

Screenshot goodness after a few tweaks hehe:

Try using 7-zip or winzip as they can handle the high compression better.

v3.1.0

I download v3.1.0 several times but couldn't ever find the following file included (program crashes on startup without it):

UI Builder.exe.config

EDIT: Minor display issue regarding the new Full Map category is that it always shows as blank (regardless of setting) when the program is loaded.

Having gotten that out of the way...Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to this project. This has been a truly wonderful experience being able to work with multiple individual skins with such ease.

It's great that you just added the Full Map category since I was attempting to add a full map skin about one hour prior to you releasing the update. I downloaded the update this morning and the first thing I did was to add the Transparent Map Tracker skin. I've also added the Larger Crafting Panel by Thrashfinger (his Larger Auction Panel is already included and works great). I would love to see the builder really take off in regards to players posting their customizations as addons. I've successfully incorporated two stand-alone skins into the builder with extreme ease and I'm hoping to get them up on the site soon.

Please keep it coming and thanks again for everything.

FAQ?

I just downloaded, installed, and messed around a bit with this last night so I'll share my experiences and hope it helps. Let's start off by getting it up and running first:

1. Download & Extract the zip file.

2. Move the "UiBuilder" folder (found inside the extracted folder) to the following location:

...\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\UI\Skins (You may have to create the UI and Skins folders if they don't already exist)

3. Create a Shortcut to & Run the "UI Builder.exe" file.

If you get this working then start experimenting and I'll help answer any further questions you might have. I have been able to successfully merge a stand-alone skin that wasn't included and I plan to continue to experiment along those lines so please feel free to ask questions.

Couple things to keep in mind:

1. Make sure to name your custom ui before creating it.

2. Once named and created just log into the game and onto one of your characters.

3. Go to Options then UI Settings and find the drop-down for "Current User Skin" and select your custom name from the list.

4. Exit and re-log to see changes.

Every time you make changes via the builder you will need to re-log into the game. As long as the name doesn't change you will only need to select it once as it remembers your choice between log-ins.

Also, in case it helps, the About section list most of the mods used along with website addresses but I couldn't get them to work or copy to paste into another program. Upon looking deeper I found a file with the info in plain text so here it is if you like:

I'm a noob at the techie side of things.

After F2P and all the plugins started coming out, I learned how to use plugins and skins, and have become decently profficient with those.

I would really like to use this to make my own skins, but...

I haven't had success getting it to work as of yet.

I saved this in my plugins folder the same as any other. Is that where it's supposed to go? If not, where is the correct place to save this?

Once saved to the correct location, how do I launch it? Do I run it in game, or out of game on my desktop, or what?

Is it noob friendly, or do I need more specific info I might not have to make it run? Any files I need to go in and modify, or other programs I need to download to make this work? Anything a noob wouldn't know to do that I need for this to work?

Thanks : )

Thank you for your quick reply. I can work with the 2.0 I know that it somewhat works. Just have to look at wine tricks. I will try the new verison you put out and give it a whirl.

Emberleaf:
The way the builder is setup most of the time it would be easier it fix the old UIs and post them as a patch but it is possible to cut up and add just about anything to the builder since the rewrite.
faldiin:
Yes it does use .NET v2.0 the early betas used 3.5 but I switched as i know .Net 2.0 can be installed in wine. It's hell and high water to do it and most programs still don't work, and I don't know if this is one of them, but it can be done.
As to how it builds it only builds the SkinDefinition.xml to point to the skin files it does not copy any of them to a new location. I have improved it so you can have more than 1 skin built with this but it still only builds the SkinDefinition.xml.

What system requirement

I am a Linux user. I am not sure what you use that runs the program. I am guessing .NET ?.? I had to boot to windows to use this and then go back to Linux to run it. I dont use Windows that often unless I run into something like this.

Also where does this store the new UI. I would like to take and process like 3 verisons depending on What Res I am using. I could not locate the save file. Everytime I would make a new name, I still just had one option.

Thank you for the great work.

Faldiin

P.S. small bar (short bar) is off on the numbers on the exp bar.

I am *totally* loving this! I do have a question, though. There are many UI's on this site that are no longer being maintained/updated, etc. (I'm thinking specifically of the 'Cutsie Beta' UI). Is there ANY way someone could add the artwork to MyUI with the proper XML voodoo if the original author can no longer be reached?
